Since I was in Mannheim for work, I chose this hotel. The rooms are, as you can see in the pictures, absolutely clean, and the breakfast is more than adequate for my needs.

We were very satisfied. Our room (superior, top floor) was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom with its walk-in rain shower was clean and inviting. The bathroom is quite small, but everything was there, except I personally missed having a bathrobe. All the staff were friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. There's an elevator and a bar where you can enjoy drinks in the evening. There's a parking garage next door, but perhaps the way to the hotel could be better signposted. I have rarely had such a disappointing experience with a hotel booking. My room at the Best Western Parkhotel Mannheim was properly booked, paid for, and confirmed by the hotel. I was all the more stunned when I was informed yesterday that my booking had been canceled without any comprehensible reason being given. This raises a fundamental question for me: What is the value of a booking confirmation if, even after payment, a guest cannot rely on the booked room actually being available? I stayed there for two nights and it was excellent value for money for an air-conditioned room without breakfast (which would normally cost €22+) for only €85. The location is good, and there's free street parking right outside the hotel from 6 PM until 9 AM, or you can park in the parking garage around the corner. The room was clean and, most importantly, cool thanks to the split air conditioning unit. There's also a mini-fridge (which could be cleaner) for keeping your own drinks cold.
